GDUK Community raise funds for DCM Research

April 2019 saw Claire Davies & Angus represent the members of GDUK in handing over a cheque for £9228 to Professor Jo Dukes-McEwan, Professor of Veterinary Cardiology at the Small Animal Teaching Hospital, University of Liverpool for the continuing research into Dilated Cardiomyopathy in Great Danes.
We want to thank the very generous Great Dane Community of GDUK in raising this fantastic amount which goes such a long way to helping the research, you all should be massively proud, the cheque is the proceeds of the auction and raffles totalling £7398, plus the 'Just Giving' page, £1829.69 (Just Giving took £60.31 in fees!)
Prof. Jo Dukes-McEwan has kindly written a breakdown of where funds will be used which I have attached
Claire contacted me a few months ago when Angus was given the devastating DCM diagnosis at such a young age, she wanted to ask if we would ok a 'just giving page,' at which point I said we were going to do an Auction this year so would speak to Heather & Alice about making the DCM project the beneficiary ... the rest is history!
We will be running an online dog show in a few weeks to add to the funds but need a breather!
